Gain a solid introduction to digital photography with an emphasis on D-SLR cameras in this 12-week (36-hour) course. Learn when to trust the automatic features your camera offers, as well as when, and how, to take control manually if the situation demands. You'll learn metering and exposure methods, how to fine tune white balance, which ISO or file format to use and more. Discover how to optimize your camera for the subject matter and post-processing methods you use. The practical and creative advantages of the RAW format are explored as are simple Photoshop techniques to maximize image optimization to improve the colour and tone of your digital outputs.

Participants should have a digital camera and access to a computer running Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or Photoshop Lightroom.
